SCHMOLKE saddle SL 79 | UD Black Edition
This saddle combines minimum weight with maximum comfort.
The basis for the extraordinary seating comfort is the extremely stable and very flexible saddlecloth. The saddle, which weighs only 79 grams, has highly oval saddle struts with a special fiber arrangement that make it particularly stable. A perfect finish also pampers the eye and leaves nothing to be desired in terms of the finished product.
As with all Schmolke carbon products, the general 2-year guarantee against manufacturing defects and the individual crash replacement offer also apply to the SL 79 saddle.
WHAT DOES SL
"SL" stands for super light. In this series, Schmolke only uses fibers of the T800 quality for handlebars and seat posts, while fibers of the T300 to T700 quality are used as is customary in the industry. In addition, the low weight with the known stability is made possible by the load-appropriate layer structure.
SCHMOLKE CARBON
In his youth he started actively racing with his brother Matthias. Sporty passion and technical interest moved Schmolke to a targeted degree in mechanical engineering and corresponding study work under lightweight construction legend Hans Christian Smolik. In 1992, his diploma thesis on "new materials and the theory of a carbon racing handlebar" was followed in the same year by the founding of Schmolke Carbon and the production of the first racing handlebars made of carbon. He gained in-depth knowledge of lightweight construction at the aerospace manufacturer EADS, for whom he initially worked full-time. In this way, he was able to always incorporate the skills he had learned into refining his products. These constant improvements to details have kept Schmolke carbon bicycle parts at the top for over 20 years. Carbon handlebars and seat posts for mountain bikes and racing bikes are among the best and lightest that the market has to offer. Schmolke Carbon products are produced in Constance on Lake Constance.
