This wheelset can also withstand the special loads of an e-bike drive. The indestructible DT Swiss hubs and the superbly crafted DT Swiss rims are forgiving of the occasional riding error. The well-balanced selection of components guarantees you high reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
The hybrid version of the 240 hub is synonymous with indestructible. Specially developed for the high loads on E-bikes, it will also perform reliably on expedition and touring bikes. Compared to the standard version, the oversized housing is particularly striking. This can better absorb and distribute the forces that occur. Together with the enlarged bearings and the stable heavy-duty axle, it also ensures high rigidity. The hub flange has also grown significantly in diameter. This means that shorter spokes can be used, which reduces torsion in the entire wheel to a minimum. The holes are also designed for spokes up to 2.34 mm thick.
Propulsion is provided by the Ratchet OS toothed disk freewheel. Its dimensions have also been adapted to the increased loads. With its 30 ratchet points, the freewheel travel is reduced, but there is also enough surface area for power transmission. In addition, the freehub body is made of steel to prevent premature wear.
Despite these numerous features, the weight remains within a pleasing range, so that it could also be shortlisted for non-E-bikers. Typical for DT Swiss is the high-quality workmanship, which guarantees you a long service life and low maintenance.
Rims
If you want to set off into the unknown with your 29er E-MTB, the HX 531 with its 30 mm rim width is the perfect choice. Thanks to the optimal mix of stability, weight and width, it can be ridden with many different tire widths and you are therefore very flexible when choosing the area of use.
Spokes
The Race spoke is the classic from Sapim. It is a round spoke with a butted center section with a diameter of 1.8 mm. This provides more damping than non-tapered spokes. In addition, short load peaks can be better digested. The Race spoke enables very stiff and stable wheels for practically any application. The weight including nipple is approx. 6.95g per piece.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are assembled completely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire assembly process, great importance is attached to ensuring that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. This special care allows us to offer a lifetime guarantee against spoke breakage as long as it is not caused by force.

You will receive a free initial inspection of the wheel, where the resulting work is completely free of charge. Only shipping costs are incurred.
You get a crash replacement promise: If your wheel is damaged due to force majeure, we will rebuild it once. We grant a 100% discount on all labor costs and only charge for the material.
