Hubs
Industry Nine knows: the eye also rides along. The SOLiX Classic hubs are a real gem on any bike. Developed and produced in Asheville / North Carolina, they set themselves apart from the competition with many small technical refinements. With their externally sealed bearings and stable axles, they are optimally protected against environmental influences and are also ideally equipped for XC use. Beveled spoke flanges help to reduce the forces on the sensitive spoke heads and thus prevent spoke breakage. The corrugated design of the hub flanges is not only pleasing to the eye, it also ensures effective load distribution while reducing weight.
However, the heart of the system is inside - the freewheel of the rear hub. It consists of a drive ring with 121 teeth and five stepless pawls. These are designed in such a way that as soon as one of them engages, the others can also absorb torque shortly afterwards. This means that a single pawl only has to bear the force alone for a very short time. The big advantage of this system is the extremely short idle travel of 0.59°, which gives you a very direct start. In addition, the fine ratcheting leads to a unique noise level on the wheel.
The maintenance effort is also relatively low. You can disassemble and clean the hub without tools.
Rims
If you don't want to compromise, this is the perfect rim for your adventures. Very light, stable and durable, there are no limits to its XC use and your opponents will only see your rear wheel. And we haven't skimped on safety either, as it is approved for a system weight of 100 kg.
How did the developers achieve this? First and foremost, of course, the choice of material plays an important role. Not all carbon is the same. The decision was made to use high-quality T700 fibers from Toray Industries, one of the world's leading suppliers of this material. These have incredible strength, are very stiff and also weigh very little. However, high-end material alone does not make a high-quality product. It also depends on the manufacturing process, which is where the rims score points. Their sandwich construction combines different carbon layers. This enables specific, punctual reinforcements and therefore greater overall stability of the rim without increasing the weight.In addition, a carbon strip has been used in the spoke hole area to prevent the nipples from tearing out and to allow a higher spoke tension.
The unique, flawless look in an elegant matt finish is also achieved using a special resin. This allows the carbon layers to harden perfectly, prevents bubbles from forming and ensures a resistant surface. This means that even stone chips cannot harm it.
The hookless rim flange ensures the best tubeless compatibility and high puncture protection. This has been specially reinforced to distribute the forces over a larger area. This significantly reduces the likelihood of damage in the event of punctures. Lateral bruises are also much easier to absorb, so you can be forgiven for the odd riding mistake.
The rim has an asymmetrical rim profile, which enables a more even spoke angle. This optimization has a number of advantages. The tension on both sides can be better aligned, which is beneficial to the durability of the spokes and the wheel as a whole. The normally direction-dependent lateral stiffness is also adjusted, making the wheel more stable in itself.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike

During the entire assembly process, great importance is attached to ensuring that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. This special care allows us to give the first owner a lifetime guarantee against spoke breakage, as long as it was not caused by force.
