Hubs
The bodies of the X-Hub SP hubs are elaborately CNC-milled and rotate around a multi-butted aluminum axle. With a diameter of 17 mm, this provides the hub with a high level of rigidity. High-quality, double-sealed ball bearings are used, which ensure a permanently silky-smooth running. The axle play can be easily adjusted by hand from the outside. The new pre-load adjustment ring is now easier to operate.
The freewheel on the rear hub engages via four pawls, each with three teeth, in a 56-fold titanium ring gear to withstand even the most powerful riders.
In addition to the modern design, the main advantages of the Straightpull hubs are non-contact spokes that do not cause any unpleasant noises and spoke heads that cannot work their way into the spoke flange. If desired, the Straightpull hubs can also be cross-spoked.
Rims
If you don't want to compromise, here is the perfect rim for your adventures. Very light, stable and durable, there are no limits to its XC use and your opponents will only see your rear wheel. And it doesn't skimp on safety either, as it is approved for a system weight of 100 kg.
How did the developers achieve this? First and foremost, of course, the choice of material plays an important role. Not all carbon is the same. The decision was made to use high-quality T700 fibers from Toray Industries, one of the world's leading suppliers of this material. These have incredible strength, are very stiff and also weigh very little. However, high-end material alone does not make a high-quality product. It also depends on the manufacturing process, which is where the rims score points. Their sandwich construction combines different carbon layers. This enables specific, punctual reinforcements and therefore greater overall stability of the rim without increasing the weight.In addition, a carbon strip was used in the spoke hole area to prevent the nipples from tearing out and to allow higher spoke tension.
The unique, flawless look in an elegant matt finish is also achieved using a special resin. This allows the carbon layers to harden perfectly, prevents bubbles from forming and ensures a resistant surface. This means that even stone chips cannot harm it.
The hookless rim flange ensures the best tubeless compatibility and high puncture protection. This has been specially reinforced to distribute the forces over a larger area. This significantly reduces the likelihood of damage in the event of punctures. Lateral bruises are also much easier to absorb, so you can be forgiven for the odd riding mistake.
The rim has an asymmetrical rim profile, which enables a more even spoke angle. This optimization has a number of advantages. The tension on both sides can be better aligned, which is beneficial to the durability of the spokes and the wheel as a whole. The normally direction-dependent lateral stiffness is also adjusted, making the wheel more stable in itself.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike

During the entire assembly process, great importance is attached to ensuring that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. This special care allows us to give the first owner a lifetime guarantee against spoke breakage, as long as it is not caused by force.
