Hubs
With the Zipp ZR1 SL, Zipp brings a lightweight hub set with maximum performance to the market. Based on the proven ZR1 hubs, the SL versions have a lighter hub shell and an optimized bearing system. Originally developed for the premium NSW wheels, the hubs are now also available separately.
The sophisticated freehub system offers 66 engagement points per wheel rotation and ensures fast power engagement with six offset pawls, which are organized in two groups of three pawls each. This means that three pawls always engage simultaneously, ensuring direct power transmission from the pedal to the wheel. Another clever detail: when the hub is dismantled, the pawls remain fixed, which makes maintenance much easier.
Equipped with high-quality ceramic hybrid ball bearings, the hubs have extremely low frictional resistance. For easy maintenance, the ZR1 SL hubs come with classic hub flanges for J-bend spokes, which are still the most common spoke shape today. The hubs can be installed on e-road bikes and e-gravel bikes with motors with a torque of up to 60 Nm.
Rims
With their extravagant design, the Light-Bicycle Falcon Pro Turbo rims are not just a visual highlight. With their modern rim profile, they are also state of the art in technical terms and can play to their strengths on a wide range of wheel types. With an inner width of 25 millimetres and an outer width of 34.5 millimetres, they not only integrate 28 to 32 millimetre wide road bike tires perfectly into the rim profile in terms of aerodynamics, they also provide excellent support for all-road and gravel tires up to a width of 50 millimetres at low air pressures. In addition to the rim height, the tapered turbo rim profile helps to reduce drag and improve crosswind stability at the same time. The shape also improves the stiffness of the rims, which is reflected in a more direct power transmission in the assembled wheel. The tubeless inner profile with rim hooks ensures a secure tire fit on the rims.
Despite the elaborate rim design, the weight of the rims is very low thanks to a complex manufacturing process.
Thanks to this special BlackTek manufacturing process, the Falcon Pro rims come out of the autoclave as a finished product and require no post-processing. This not only makes the manufacturing process more environmentally friendly than conventional methods, the rim surface is also significantly harder and therefore more resistant to mechanical stresses during driving.
Extra-thin and lightweight carbon prepregs are used in the production of Falcon Pro rims. This makes it possible to stack more carbon layers in critical areas to achieve greater stability without weight disadvantages and to keep the overall weight of the rims extremely low.

Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are assembled completely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire assembly process, great importance is attached to ensuring that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. This special care allows us to give the first owner a lifetime guarantee against spoke breakage, as long as it was not caused by force.

You will receive a spare spoke with nipple in all required spoke lengths so that you can repair the wheel quickly after an accident.
Within 2 years of purchase, you will receive a free initial inspection of the wheel, during which the resulting work is completely free of charge. Only shipping costs are incurred.
You get a crash replacement promise: If your wheel is damaged within 2 years of purchase due to force majeure, we will rebuild it once. We grant a 100% discount on all labor costs and only charge for the material.
