Hubs
It has long been known that the Italians around Extralite create small CNC works of art. Their extravagant design stands out from the crowd and is an eye-catcher on any bike.
They have once again outdone themselves with the next evolutionary stage of the Cyberhubs. The one-piece hub body is CNC-milled from high-strength 7075TX aluminum at great expense. This rotates around a stable 17 mm aluminum axle with double-sealed deep groove ball bearings. The axial play can also be finely adjusted in future using the micro-tuner.
The spoke mounts have been changed slightly. These are now closer to the hub body, but still use the straight-pull version to minimize susceptibility to punctures. The holes have been enlarged and rounded to a diameter of 2.8 mm and can accommodate conventional stainless steel spokes as well as carbon or even textile fiber versions. This means you are already equipped for the future. In addition, the coordinated geometry of the hub flange ensures an optimum spoke angle and can also withstand high spoke tensions. This guarantees you a very stiff and durable wheel.
A pawl freewheel provides propulsion. Two pawls engage in a titanium ring with 32 ratchets. This reduces the free travel and also reduces wear.
Rims
ENVE carbon rims are developed by ENVE in the USA and manufactured to the highest quality standards at the company's headquarters in Utah. ENVE's engineers have years of experience with the use of carbon in the field of cycling and know what requirements a top product like these carbon rims must meet. At ENVE, every effort is made to utilize the advantages of carbon and eliminate its disadvantages. Stiff and extremely light rims have been developed in which all fibers can run without interruption, which corresponds to the best possible utilization of the material thicknesses. This principle was perfected for the spoke holes, with continuous fiber strands forming the receptacle for the spoke nipples. Aluminum inserts, which are common in other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows significantly higher spoke tensions, which in turn allows the construction of stiffer wheels.

Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are assembled completely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire assembly process, great importance is attached to ensuring that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. This special care allows us to give the first owner a lifetime guarantee against spoke breakage, as long as it was not caused by force.
