Road cyclists are looking for the best compromise between weight, aerodynamics and stiffness. The combination of Duke carbon rims and the exclusive Extralite hubs should therefore always be on your shortlist. The balanced selection of components guarantees you high reliability and a long service life.

Hubs
It has long been known that the Italians around Extralite create small CNC works of art. The now one-piece hub body is CNC-milled from high-strength 7075TX aluminum at great expense. It rotates around a 15 mm front and 17 mm rear aluminum axle with double-sealed deep groove ball bearings. The axial play can be finely adjusted using the micro-tuner. The improved flange geometry ensures a more optimal spoke angle and can now be used with higher spoke tensions. Another new feature is the use of titanium gearing with 32 teeth, which is controlled by two pawls in the hub body.
The main advantages of the Straightpull hubs are, in addition to the more modern design, contactless spokes that do not cause any unpleasant noises and spoke heads that cannot work their way into the spoke flange. However, if desired, the straightpull hubs can also be cross-spoked.

Rims
The carbon rims from Duke in France stand for outstanding workmanship and low weight. Thanks to the SLS2 manufacturing technology developed by Duke, the latter has been reduced by around 10% compared to previous models, while at the same time increasing durability and stability. The use of highly modular carbon fibers also improves the inherent damping, which benefits increased riding comfort. The modified structure also allows the unrestricted use of modern tubeless tires.

Wheel construction at R2-Bike

Our wheels are assembled completely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire assembly process, great importance is attached to ensuring that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. This special care allows us to offer a lifetime guarantee against spoke breakage as long as it is not caused by force.

The following services are also included:

You will receive a universal wheel bag for all common sizes.
You will receive a replacement spoke with nipple in all required spoke lengths so that you can repair the wheel quickly after an accident.
You will receive a free initial inspection of the wheel, where the resulting work is completely free of charge. Only shipping costs are incurred.
You get a crash replacement promise: If your wheel is damaged due to force majeure, we will rebuild it once. We grant a 100% discount on all labor costs and only charge for the materials.
