The combination of Syntace aluminum rims and indestructible DT Swiss hubs should therefore always be on the shortlist. Hubs
Lighter, stiffer, more precise and easier to maintain - these are the strengths of the newly launched DT Swiss 240 hubs. These properties were achieved through the Ratchet EXP technology. With this, not only do the hubs get by with fewer components and the associated lower weight and less wear, it also allows the bearing to be positioned significantly further out on the drive side. The greater distance between the bearings results in a higher stiffness of the hub, a lower bearing load and thus a higher durability. The stiffness of the hub body serves to distribute the load on the spokes more evenly. Driving and braking forces are transmitted even better from both spoke flanges to all spokes. One-sided load peaks are prevented, which protects the hub, spokes and rim. The super reliable toothed pulley freewheel system with its large contact area and 36 locking points ensures extremely direct and reliable power transmission.
rims
Based on the tried and tested aluminum rims of the W series for mountain bikes, Syntace also developed rims for the growing bicycle category of gravel bikes and racing bikes with disc brakes. Thanks to the generous inside width, it offers 25-40 millimeter wide tires, even with very low air pressures, very good support. The special inner profile of the rim ensures easy tubeless assembly without a compressor. The hooks on the rim horns guarantee a secure fit of tubeless tires even in extreme situations. In contrast to cheaper rims, the rim joint of Syntace rims is welded. This design makes the rim stiffer and leads to better concentricity in the spoked wheel. Due to the small gram, the rotating masses remain very low, which has a positive effect on the acceleration.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction process, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this was not caused by force!
