R2BIKE wheelset 28" Disc GRV | SON delux 12 hub dynamo / Hope Pro 5 | Duke World Runner X 25 | Sapim CX-Ray
Range of use: Gravel GRV
If you want to train consistently in the darker months of the year, there's no getting around a powerful lighting system. Battery-powered lights could be a solution, but unfortunately their light duration is limited or you have forgotten to charge them. As an alternative, we offer you this wheelset with hub dynamo, with which you can turn night into day and there are no limits to your adventurous spirit.
The individual components are of the finest quality and the low weight is definitely unrivaled. This guarantees many years of durability and even when riding on rough surfaces, there are no limits.
Front wheel hub SON hub dynamo SONdelux 12 Center Lock
SON hub dynamos are legendary. They are probably the best on the market - powerful, robust and lightweight. This delux version is specially designed for road bikes and gravel bikes and brings a lot of light into the dark on the road or gravel tracks.
Since the highly effective LED lights have replaced the halogen headlight, a dynamo does not have to develop its maximum power at low speeds. It is therefore possible to make the generator smaller and therefore lighter, which is precisely the case with the SONdelux. In contrast to the SON28, it weighs less, but still has the same durability and quality of workmanship. It also has a 30 - 35 % lower power consumption when idling, which results in significantly lower rolling resistance.
The Swabians also pay particular attention to the sealing of the hub. In addition to high-quality SKF ball bearings, a unique pressure equalization system offers the best possible protection against water ingress.
Hope Pro 5 Center Lock rear hub
At the center of the rear wheel is a Pro 5 hub from the English cult manufacturer from Barnoldswick. The experience gained from 30 years of designing and manufacturing high-quality drive elements has been incorporated into their development with the aim of improving proven technology in order to meet the demands of current and future bicycle technology.
The design of the rear hub differs significantly from its predecessor, with an enlarged body that generates more rigidity without increasing the weight. This is noticeable above all in a significantly more direct ride. At the same time, the diameter of the spoke flange has been increased, making it easier to build very stable wheels.
The highlight of the rear wheel hub is the new 6-pawl freehub system in offset design, which is characterized by the fact that three of the six pawls are always engaged when riding in order to distribute the load evenly. In addition, the freehub gearing has been increased from 44 (Pro 4) to 54 teeth, resulting in a total of 108 engagement points and a low free travel of just 3.33°. In addition, some material has been removed from the pawl springs, which slightly reduces the spring force and lowers their resistance. Hope has thus achieved the right balance between smooth running and durability with the Pro 5.
The hub can withstand negative external influences for a long time, thanks to the high-quality anodization and the very well-sealed stainless steel industrial bearings. Should the ravages of time take their toll on the hub, it can be dismantled and serviced with little effort. It can also be easily converted to a different hub standard.
Duke World Runner X 25 rims
The World Runner X 25 is the modern aluminum gravel rim in Duke's portfolio. As the successor to the World Runner 25, it has been technically adapted to the modern inner widths of gravel bikes and now comes with a stable 25 mm. This makes the rim the perfect choice if you are looking for a stable, light and stiff aluminum rim for your gravel adventures. Of course, this rim is designed for tubeless use and has an asymmetrical rim profile, which enables a more even spoke angle. This optimization of the spoke angle has a number of advantages. The tension on both sides can be better aligned, which is beneficial to the durability of the spokes and the wheel as a whole. The normally direction-dependent lateral stiffness is also equalized, making the wheel more stable.
SAPIM CX-Ray spokes
With the CX-Ray, Sapim has succeeded in developing an exceptional spoke. In addition to its low weight, it has an exceptional load capacity and flexibility. This also results in a wide range of applications. Whether road cyclists or mountain bikers, everyone benefits from these positive characteristics. In addition, the flattened middle section ensures excellent aerodynamics. The high material quality enables the construction of stable wheels and guarantees a long service life.
Sapim's CX-Ray spokes can be installed in all standard hub holes.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are assembled entirely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire assembly process, great importance is attached to ensuring that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. This special care allows us to give the first owner a lifetime guarantee against spoke breakage, as long as it was not caused by force.
The following services are also included for first-time buyers:
You get a universal wheel bag for all common sizes included.
You will receive a spare spoke with nipple in all required spoke lengths so that you can repair the wheel quickly after an accident.
Within 2 years of purchase, you will receive a free initial inspection of the wheel, during which the resulting work is completely free of charge. There are only shipping costs.
You get a crash replacement promise: If your wheel is damaged within 2 years of purchase due to force majeure, we will rebuild it once. We grant a 100% discount on all labor costs and only charge for the material.
