PARK TOOL chain tester CC-2
A worn chain is not only difficult to shift, it also ruins chainrings and cassette in a very short time. The CC-2 chain tester ensures a precise wear measurement of 5- to 12-speed chains, so that you can recognize and replace a worn chain in good time. Replacing the chain is recommended by most manufacturers for 5- to 9-speed chains with a maximum elongation of 0.75% and for 10- to 12-speed chains with a maximum of 0.5%.
NOTE: Since a chain requires a certain amount of play for its functionality even when new, the chain inspector can also show up to 0.25% wear on a new chain.
