OPENCYCLE GravelPlus Disc Frame Set 27.5 "OPEN WI.DE. | Carbon Gray
Inspired by the OPEN UP, the developers at Opencycle faced a major challenge. How do you make an already optimized Gravel bike even more suitable for traveling? By implanting wider tires to make the bike even more comfortable and functional even for the most extreme gravel adventures. Add a little pinch of additional storage and the MonsterGravel is ready.
The WI.DE. (analogous: winding detours) combines a performance-oriented cross / road geometry with the tire freedom of a mountain bike. Thanks to the GravelPlus concept, you can drive almost anywhere and fast.
Whether on the city on asphalt, on gravel roads or on single trails, the perfected geometry and the large tires of up to 2.4 inches (at 27.5 "| 650B) let you master any terrain without any problems.
Of course, this enormous increase in tires posed great challenges for the developers. So the bottom bracket area and the rear triangle was adapted to the conditions without losing stability. On the contrary, the frame gained stiffness in the right places while still providing comfortable flex in the crucial zones. In addition, the chainstay on the non-drive side, which is additionally lowered in relation to the OPEN UP, allows higher rigidity and more crank and tire clearance behind the bottom bracket in conjunction with the Monostay in the "box" shape. The weight of the frame nevertheless remained at the low level of the UP.
Opencycle uses 100% Hi - Modulus Carbon in aerospace quality, not to impress you but to meet your own high demands on the product, the use of carbon in the right place . True to the motto: Stiff stiff yet comfortable with more traction.
The use of state-of-the-art standards such as Flatmount disc brakes, Superlight Carbon-Ti thru axles, Di2, eTap AXS, the tapered head tube and the BB386Evo bottom bracket housing underline the coherent overall concept with high compatibility. The innovative design with the internal cables and brake lines not only creates a clean look but also saves weight. The shift cables are open in the frame, but are protected against dirt and thus require only a minimum of outer shell.
Opencycle frames are prepared for the future. A conversion to electrical circuits with the current Shimano DI2 standard is possible at any time thanks to sophisticated cable management.
