The AM319 is the big brother of our world champion wheelset UL319 with which Simon Gegenheimer won the UCI Eliminator Sprint World Cup in Graz. The proven design is identical to this one, but the AM319 uses a more impact-resistant fiber and more carbon layers to withstand the higher loads. This wheelset is all about the lightweight yet stable NONPLUS Components hubs from Baden-Württemberg. A newly developed, tapered toothed pulley freehub converts each of your starts directly into propulsion. Thanks to the 45-tooth gearing, the maximum free travel is 8°.
Hubs
The small forge from Murr in Baden-Württemberg has been producing lightweight and stable bicycle hubs since 2018. New concepts are constantly being developed and patents applied for so that new standards can also be set in the future.
The elaborately sealed industrial deep groove ball bearings are surrounded by a hub body made of high-quality anodized aluminium, which has a special venting system that prevents the formation of negative pressure due to temperature fluctuations in the hub. As a result, no water is sucked through the ball bearings, which ensures a significantly longer service life and noticeably smooth running of the bearings.
The unique freehub mechanism with tapered teeth of the NONPLUS hubs has approx. 400% more contact surface than conventional systems and enables maximum power transmission with minimum wear. The forces are transmitted over a large area instead of at specific points. The 45 defined engagement points immediately convert your acceleration into propulsion with little idle travel (max. 8°).
Rims
Thanks to the special weave structure and layer distribution in the manufacturing process, the carbon rims offer durability and riding characteristics that make your experience on the bike unique. Additional wall thickness in the nipple area ensures a consistent and safe riding experience even under extreme loads. The wide rim flange protects against rim damage in the event of punctures and the impact-resistant carbon fiber provides additional protection against damage. The offset of the rim creates a resilient and stable wheel. For enduro use, the rims are reinforced in the high-stress areas.
The decals are only glued on and can be easily removed. To match your personal preferences, you can optionally purchase coloured decal sets and visually match the rim to your bike.
Spokes
Produced in Taiwan, Wing 20 and Wing 21 are among the most aerodynamic spokes available. The triple-butted Wing 20 knife spoke 2.2 - 1.2 x 2.0 mm - 2.0 mm helps to save weight on the rotating mass. The triple-butted Wing 21 bladed spoke 2.2 - 1.3 x 2.1 mm - 2.0 mm is installed at the rear on the drive side and at the front on the brake side to provide sufficient rigidity even with very high torque transmission. These blade spokes have been tried and tested for decades. The aerodynamic spokes with tapered center section not only save weight, but also generate additional energy savings due to the lower wind resistance, which is particularly noticeable at high speeds.
