The Phase Base VONOA rear wheel is the first choice for every trail biker. It shines with the lowest weight and first-class riding characteristics. The perfectly processed carbon fibers of the rim are extremely impact-resistant and give it incredible stability. This enables loss-free propulsion at all times. A special production process makes reworking and painting unnecessary. This saves even more grams.
The very generous inner width of 30 mm, together with the slightly outward-positioned sidewall, gives the tire an optimally rounded shape, which is reflected in better grip and more comfort. Newmen has opted for a hookless rim flange, which has been further improved compared to the Light version. This has been further reinforced compared to the light version and is better able to withstand possible punctures. As a result, less air pressure can be used and optimum tubeless compatibility is achieved.
Newmen's own FADE CS hub is in no way inferior to the rim. User-friendliness has been placed in the foreground. It is not necessary to adjust the axial bearing play. The bearings are pressed in precisely and tension-free ex works. The seal is also perfect, so that water and dirt have no chance of penetrating inside. A pawl freewheel converts your acceleration into propulsion. To ensure reliable operation, the pawls are very short and wide in order to better distribute the forces that occur. Despite the relatively low weight of the hubs, safety has not been compromised. It is better to use a little more material at critical points, such as the transition between the brake disk and spoke mount, than to risk a defect.
However, the highlight of this rear wheel is definitely the spokes. These are not made of steel as usual, but of carbon fibers. Weighing just 2.8 g each, together with the lightweight rims they ensure incredible acceleration values and the best uphill performance. They are also extremely tear-resistant, making the wheel very stable and durable even with just 24 spokes.
The makers of Newmen have confidence in their products and grant a 3-year warranty on all material and manufacturing defects in addition to the statutory warranty on all products. In addition, all carbon rims come with a lifetime crash replacement of 50% off the recommended retail price (RRP) applicable at the time.
