Newmen's many years of experience in wheel construction can already be seen in the rim. The flawless workmanship of the high-quality UD fibers guarantees long-lasting durability and first-class riding characteristics. Similar to the MTB rims, the gravel version also has a hookless profile. The biggest advantage of this design is the increased impact resistance of the rim flange without increasing the weight. This makes it possible to ride with low air pressure, which significantly improves grip and comfort. With the relatively high flank for gravel rims, very good aerodynamic values are achieved and you can really accelerate on the flat.The recessed valve also contributes to the streamlined and clean look. This nice feature means that it is not visible while riding and the hole is covered by a cap supplied. The valve extension supplied is simply screwed on by hand for pumping and deflating.
Newmen's own Fade R CS hubs rotate in the center and are equipped with high-quality, double-sealed industrial bearings for durability under all conditions. In contrast to the tried and tested FADE Road hubs, this version has been reinforced on the inside. This means that any forces that occur can be better compensated and it is even approved for use on e-road bikes. The reliable pawl freehub with its 36 ratchets offers a good compromise between free travel and robustness. In addition, its noise level has been significantly reduced so as not to be a nuisance in the countryside. Externally, the slim design has been retained, which avoids air turbulence and improves aerodynamics. The flanges have been modified, which can now accommodate the VONOA carbon spokes and are visually eye-catching.Furthermore, Newmen uses a special grease which has a 25% higher water absorption capacity and a very high bleeding temperature and protects the bearings from premature wear and corrosion.
However, the highlight of this front wheel is definitely the spokes. These are not made of steel as usual, but of carbon fibers and are approx. 40 % lighter per piece. Together with the lightweight rims, they ensure incredible acceleration values and the best uphill performance. In addition, their aerodynamic shape offers little resistance to the wind, allowing you to save valuable energy. They are also extremely tear-resistant, which means that the wheel can be built very stably and durably even with just 15 spokes.
