MAXXIS tire Ravager 28 | 700 x 45C DualCompound TR SilkShield
The Ravager is a gravel tire for riders who want to tackle difficult terrain with just their drop bars and a thin layer of rubber. Where other tires go beyond the end of the road, the Ravager is just getting started. Raised square center lugs provide good climbing and braking performance. Large side lugs get you safely through the next bend.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other tubeless ready tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless mounting is successful on all rims with standard dimensions right from the first inflation and with little liquid. Normal MAXXIS MTB tires can also be mounted tubeless with sealant, just like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabric is very tight.
However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless mounting of other models is at your own risk.
Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months, depending on the amount used.
SilkShield
SilkShield provides Silkworm protection all around, from rim edge to rim edge, preventing cuts and other defects on the tire sidewalls and under the tread.
DualCompound
Two different rubber compounds are processed into one tread strip. We plan the arrangement of the compounds according to the desired properties of the tires.
