In the past, bicycle parts were increasingly defined by the battle between weight, stiffness and durability. Carbon is the material of choice to meet these requirements. While HOPE has traditionally focused on CNC machined aluminum components, it was now time to expand the product portfolio with carbon components. HOPE's entry into the carbon market is fully in line with the claim - Made in UK.

Each seatpost consists of 24 individual prepregs to ensure a safe and robust unit. The largest proportion is made up of unidirectional T700 carbon - the standard modulus fiber with high tensile strength - which has been processed to different wall thicknesses.
In addition, strategically positioned layers of 3K carbon fabric are used. This provides the necessary strength for the clamping area and good-natured breakage behavior in the event of serious accidents.
The 1K outer layer with 2/2 twill weave (diagonal, parallel lines) also contributes to these properties, providing an extremely smooth surface with outstanding aesthetics. Twill weaves have fewer thread crossings and therefore result in higher strengths in the laminate.
The ultra finely adjustable seat post holder can be ordered in a version for round or oval seat posts.
