The Fortus rims in particular contribute to the resilience with their multi-chamber construction. Made of high-quality 6061 T6 aluminum, they can accommodate tires up to 2.8" wide with their enormous inner width of 30 mm. This provides additional grip and comfort. The welded ends ensure a perfect look and increased stability. The reinforced rim flange is stuck even more powerful punctures without damage.And of course the Fortus can be converted for tubeless use.A set of rim tape and valve is already included in the scope of delivery.
The Pro 5 e-bike hubs from the English cult manufacturer from Barnoldswick rotate in the center. The design of the rear wheel hub differs significantly from the previous model. Their enlarged body generates more rigidity without increasing the weight. This is particularly noticeable in a much more direct driving behavior. At the same time, the diameter of the spoke flange increased. This simplifies the construction of very stable wheels.
The highlight of the rear wheel hub is the new freewheel system with 6 pawls. All six are engaged at the same time when riding and can evenly absorb and distribute the great power of the e-bike drive. In addition, the freewheel toothing has been increased from 44 (Pro 4) to 54 teeth, which results in a low idle travel of just 6.66°.
Typical for Hope is the perfect workmanship. The hub can withstand negative external influences for a long time, which is also thanks to the high-quality anodizing and the very well sealed stainless steel industrial bearings. Should the ravages of time gnaw at it at some point, it can be disassembled and serviced without much effort. In addition, conversion to a different hub standard is possible without any problems.
The connection between rim and hub is made by Sapim Race spokes. These classic round spokes have a butted middle section and provide more damping than straight spokes throughout. In addition, high peak loads can be better digested. The Race spokes enable very stiff and stable wheels for practically every intended use .
