After discontinuing the production of the Race brakes, the engineers at Hope always had in mind that they should be replaced by something even more superior. The result is the XCR, Hope's ultimate race brake, which in the 4-piston version does not shy away from all-mountain use. Lighter, more powerful, perfect ergonomics and optimum modulation put everything else that the guys from Barnoldswick have developed so far in the shade.

XCR PRO brake lever
The minimal radial design of the brake lever is suitable for a simple bleeding process thanks to the conventionally designed reservoir, which is what you would expect from Hope. Despite the minimalist design, details such as the adjustable lever width or the mounting clamp with hinge ensure easy installation and high functionality. New bushings ensure reduced friction and a very light feel in the lever. The look is optimized with the carbon handle and the silver anodized coating.

XCR E4 post mount brake caliper
The XCR E4 caliper is the result of joint development work with COSMOSWorks FEA (Finite Element Analysis). As usual, the brake calliper is milled from high-quality 2014 T6 aluminum. Four pistons with a diameter of 16 mm deliver an enormous braking force to the brake disc for this weight class and, together with the XCR Pro levers, ensure sensitive modulation. System bleeding and cable routing have also been simplified. In addition, top-mounted brake pads make it easier to check and change them. The perfect workmanship, elegant appearance and long service life of the brake are typical of Hope.
