Braking power is everything. That was the challenge that the engineers at Hayes set themselves. The result is the completely newly developed Dominion A4.
The sensor on the lever is adjusted at the factory for the shortest possible free travel in order to generate a crisp response as soon as it is actuated. Four pistons are installed in the cold-forged, rigid brake caliper in order to be able to use the largest possible Brake Pads and thus generate maximum braking force. The generous dimensions of the brake caliper also have a positive effect on heat management. The crosshair caliper alignment system makes mounting and aligning your brake caliper much easier. The brake calliper can be adjusted quickly, precisely and without grinding using two grub screws on the side.
The motorsport-inspired two-stroke dual-port bleeding system guarantees that no air bubble has a chance to hide and you always have optimum performance. The line is reinforced with Kevlar threads to withstand possible damage and prevent the DOT 5.1 brake fluid from spreading on the trail. This also ensures a precise pressure point at all times.
In order to be able to adapt the brake system to your personal requirements, Hayes supplies it with two different pads. One is semi-metallic and the other is a pair of sintered pads. The former are easier to modulate and have a lower tendency to squeal, while the metallic (sintered) Brake Pads wear less due to their harder material and are much more stable. However, they are somewhat noisier.
SRL (Short Reach Lever)
Hayes' development team has developed its own lever that is ideal for small hands and provides riders with the same powerful braking force. Compromises between braking power and ergonomics are now history once and for all.
