With this version of the fork, you are perfectly equipped for every trail with your E-MTB. It is reinforced at key points such as the head tube, fork crown and stanchions in order to keep up with the higher weight and speed of modern e-bikes. The low additional weight of the fork is more than compensated for with perfect function and stiffness.
The FOX 36 impresses with its outstanding features. It was designed to master the most difficult descents with confidence and is the answer for every ambitious all-mountain biker. It is equipped with GRIP X damping and thus offers you perfect performance on every ride. Whether up to the summit or at full throttle down into the valley.
The most obvious innovation is the optimized casting. A newly designed triple clamp increases the torsional stiffness by 20% for the benefit of steering precision without adding weight to the scales. Inside, the distance between the bushings has been increased by 26%. This optimization results in a smoother response, as the overlap of the stanchions is increased and the friction of the bushings is minimized internally due to the lower lever forces. The bypass channels, which transport oil upwards past the bushings, have been moved from the rear to the inside. This increases the lateral stiffness and thus the function under extreme loads.
Casting
The revised casting of the Fox 36 is 20% stiffer than its predecessor without any significant increase in weight. An increased distance between the bushings reduces friction and thus improves function. The mounting of the mudguard has also been optimized. It is fastened with four Torx screws and not under the bleeder valves as before. The bypass channels, which transport oil upwards past the bushings, have been moved from the rear to the inside. This increases the lateral stiffness and thus the function under extreme loads.
GRIP X damping
An ultra-light, short-stroke damping system that offers an unrivaled ride feel in its class. It offers a particularly sensitive response and optimized efficiency without annoying bobbing.
Float Evol Compliant Air Spring
When revising the Float Evol air unit, Fox focused on reducing internal friction. The unique mounting of the entire air unit decouples it from the stanchions via three elastomers and allows some movement under high loads. This gives you optimum performance and perfect response in every situation. And to make servicing the fork easier, the top cap of the air chamber now has a Shimano cassette tool holder.
Lower leg channels and bleeders
The bleeders allow pressure equalization and, together with the volume of the bypass channels, help to reduce the pressure increase within the fork and thus improve the response to small bumps, while the circulation of the oil optimally lubricates the bushings and seals. A new positioning of the bypass channels, which have moved from the rear to the inside, also reduces the torsion of the casting. The air bleed valves have been redesigned and are somewhat more delicate overall, but are easier to operate thanks to the enlarged pusher.
Air volume spacers
The FLOAT air spring can be fine-tuned by using volume spacers to make your suspension element more progressive or less progressive.
Kashima Coat
The Genuine Kashima Coat coating for a buttery smooth ride is exclusively available from FOX and the Kashima Coat logo is applied to both stanchions. The distinctive golden Genuine Kashima Coat coating offers superior overall performance and ensures minimal friction and optimum responsiveness with maximum durability.
Floating Axle
Floating axles are similar to conventional thru-axle systems, but offer a significant performance advantage. The special bearing ensures perfect alignment of the fork and avoids unwanted friction caused by tension between the stanchions and lower tubes. Floating axles ensure a much more even suspension movement over the entire range of fork travel and thus improve the response behavior enormously.
