The new Fox Float is the perfect symbiosis of low weight and smooth trail capability.
The new shock line-up from Fox has been consistently revised for even better downhill performance. The Fox Float is the successor to the popular Float DPS damper.
With a larger main piston and more efficient oil flow, it generates better heat dissipation, especially under heavier loads, and therefore better and safer trail performance. The increased volume allows you to run a lower air pressure with better response. For fine adjustment, the new Fox Float Hybrid has volume spacers, which allow very fine adjustments in the 0.1 mm range. The damper can be set in two suspension modes (Open & Firm) via lever adjustment or optionally via remote. The Performance series is Fox's entry into the world of shocks. Despite cheaper materials and fewer adjustment options, they are just as powerful as their more expensive brothers. Nothing stands in the way of riding fun.
The shock has an enlarged "LV" air chamber, which results in a more linear spring characteristic.
EVOL
The air chamber called EVOL with increased volume for the negative air chamber. EVOL is short for "Extra Volume". This adjustment should also have a positive effect on the suspension quality by reducing the breakaway torque of the damper. This leads to better traction and softer response. The rear suspension should therefore be significantly more efficient with the Fox Float damper. The Float damper is available in the Small Volume (SV) and Large Volume (LV) versions. SV is best suited to XC bikes with shorter suspension travel, while LV is suitable for a wider range of frames.
Metric installation dimensions
By introducing metric installation dimensions, the shock manufacturers want to achieve a standardization of standards. In future, there should no longer be so many different variants. In addition, the aim is to achieve a similar linear gradation of the various length and stroke dimensions as is already the case with suspension forks. Incidentally, these dampers offer more space inside, as the hole spacing is usually slightly larger with the same stroke length. This allows the function and reliability to be optimized.
