HyperSmart 3+
The ultra-light Extralite HyperSmart 3+ step into the limelight like a precisely milled work of art from Italy. The one-piece hub body is made from high-strength 7075TX aluminum and is shaped using state-of-the-art CNC technology. This material, a refined version of the 7075 alloy, has its origins in the aerospace industry, where hardness and durability are required under extreme conditions. Here it combines minimal weight with impressive strength, creating the basis for maximum structural integrity.
Smooth, controlled running unfolds in the center of the hub. Double-sealed stainless steel bearings rotate smoothly on a 17 millimeter thick aluminium axle. The axial play can be precisely adjusted with a fine touch using the micro-tuner, so that even the smallest movements and vibrations are consistently prevented.
There is more than just a detail behind the plus in the name. The revised spoke holder in straight-pull design sets new standards in adaptability. 3D angled holes with seamless, smoothly rounded transitions create a direct fit for a wide variety of spoke types, from ultra-light textile and stiff carbon spokes to classic steel and stainless steel versions. At the same time, optimized spoke curvature, improved tension distribution and precise alignment to the rim ensure maximum efficiency and stability.
An ingenious toothed pulley system made of hard-coated aluminum works on the inside for propulsion. Instead of classic pawls, two finely toothed disks interlock and slide against each other. As soon as power is applied to the pedal, the 48 teeth of both pulleys interlock and transmit the energy directly and reliably to the rear wheel.
With a weight of 220 grams, the hub set is one of the lightest pairs of hubs currently available for purchase. Elaborate computer simulations, countless prototypes and a long test phase under the toughest conditions guarantee a long service life.
