ENVE rim 27.5 "M685 Fat Bike | 32 holes
The ENVE M685 rim is designed to improve the feel of fat bikes. Equally made of UD-Carbon, it is not just a wider version of ENVE's other M6 rims. The M685 has been designed from the ground up to have a deeper cross section and steeper sidewall angles to better repel mud and snow. It also has asymmetrically shaped spoke holes designed for a wide support angle, created by the wide spacing of the spoke flanges of Fat Bike hubs. With extra wide hookless rim flanges, which significantly increase the penetration protection, it generates an uncompromising tire / trail interface. With a weight of impressive 600g, the rim achieves the perfect balance of traction, lightness and durability.
ENVE carbon rims are engineered by ENVE in the US and manufactured to the highest quality standards at the Utah headquarters. Engineers at ENVE have years of experience using carbon in the field of cycling and know what needs to be met by a top product like these carbon rims. At ENVE, everything is focused on harnessing the benefits of carbon and eliminating its disadvantages. So stiff and extremely light rim were developed in which all fibers can run without interruption which corresponds to the best possible utilization of the material thicknesses. This principle was perfected in the spoke holes by continuous fiber strands form the mount for the spoke nipples. Aluinserts, as they are common with other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows much higher spoke tensions which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels!
