With the Scout Sport Solo lactate meter from EKF Diagnostics, you can carry out lactate level tests within your own four walls to regularly test your training progress and update your performance zones. Lactate (lactic acid) is a metabolic end product that is produced during the anaerobic combustion of glucose in muscle cells. With a minimal sample quantity, the Lactate Scout Sport Solo delivers fast and reliable results on your blood lactate concentration and stores up to 500 measured values.Via the integrated Bluetooth LE interface, the data can be easily transferred to computers with Microsoft Windows operating systems using the Lactate Scout Assistant software. The test results on the device can also be linked to the heart rate values of Bluetooth-compatible heart rate monitors.
The lactate measurement is carried out using modern enzyme electrode technology with whole blood. This means that the device evaluates a current signal that is generated when the lactate in the blood sample reacts with the biochemical reagent in the test strip. This signal is directly dependent on the lactate concentration in the sample. The blood is fed into the device using the test strip available in our store. The measuring range extends from 0.5 to 25.0 mmol/L (equivalent to 5 to 225 mg/dL). The result is available after just 10 seconds. Only a minimum blood volume of 0.2 µL is required for a precise analysis. The sample is taken from the earlobe or fingertip. The test strips are pre-calibrated. To synchronize the test strips with the device, a two-digit calibration code (see label on the test strip box) must be entered into the device when prompted to do so. After 25 measurements, the device reminds you to check the code setting and correct it if necessary. Two CR2450 button cells, which can be replaced without tools, supply the device with power for up to 1000 measurements.
