Duke naturally has its class leader in the road bike and gravel sector in its range this season too. Visually and haptically, but also in terms of technical data, this rim has nothing to hide from the competition.
With the X-series, the French company is primarily targeting comfort-conscious long-distance cyclists. The enormous inner width of 23 mm means that even large-volume tires are given their optimum shape, filtering impacts from the ground better and providing more grip. The rim height of 56 mm enables a very stiff wheel and at the same time, thanks to the special rim profile, excellent aerodynamic values. This leaves everyone behind on the flat.
Thanks to the SLR2 manufacturing technology developed by Duke, the weight has been reduced by approx. 10% compared to its predecessor, while at the same time increasing durability and stability. Here too, there is no need for reworking or painting after production. The use of highly modular carbon fibers also improves the inherent damping, which in turn has a positive effect on riding comfort. The modified design also enables unrestricted tubeless use.
The rims have an asymmetrical rim profile, which enables a more even spoke angle. This optimization of the spoke angle has a number of advantages. The tension on both sides can be better aligned, which is beneficial to the durability of the spokes and the wheel as a whole. The normally direction-dependent lateral stiffness is also equalized, making the wheel more stable.
2-year warranty and lifetime crash replacement on UD carbon rims
Duke selects the materials used very carefully in order to offer you the best possible product. Therefore, the quality standards for all products, subcontractors and partners are very strict. Duke guarantees that the rims offered have no hidden defects for a period of two years. However, improper installation or use of the products will invalidate the warranty.
In the event of accidents or heavy falls, violent impacts can damage the rim and make it impossible to use. Duke therefore offers a lifetime crash replacement for its UD carbon rims. In exchange, you will receive a 50% discount on the rim you have purchased.
