According to this motto, DT Swiss has launched the most aerodynamic wheels on the market with the ARC-WTS (Wheel Tire System) series and they are immediately the measure of all things. While the Continental 111 TR Aero tire on the front wheel almost makes the word "air resistance" meaningless, the Grand Prix 5000s TR on the rear ensures a high level of comfort and excellent rolling characteristics. With this duo, you can really pick up the pace and easily leave the peloton behind you.
The idea, development and test phase was a successful experiment between DT Swiss, Continental and the aerodynamics experts at Swiss Side. In addition to the goal of being the best and fastest, the close interaction of the various components was also taken to a new level and creative solutions were sought. Thanks to their carefully considered selection and the typically high manufacturing quality, you are guaranteed the best functionality and a long service life.
ARC 65 mm AERO+ carbon rim
Carbon has also become the first choice of rim material at DT Swiss, with the Swiss company implementing a new concept in the production process that makes additional coating unnecessary. Together with the V-shape cross-section, the mighty 65 mm high flank ensures very good aerodynamic values without unnecessarily burdening the scales and shows its advantages both at full speed in the peloton and in time trials.Externally, the rim shape was developed according to the DT Swiss AERO+ concept and shows its advantages especially in crosswinds. Air currents hitting the rim at an angle create a sailing effect, which gives you additional propulsion and allows you to save a lot of energy. The internal nipples also increase the streamlining effect and give the wheel a clean look.
Thanks to the enormous inner width of 22 mm, even large-volume tires are perfectly supported, which prevents them from buckling in fast bends and ensures more riding stability and better damping capacity. In addition, the rim is of course designed for tubeless systems, allowing you to ride with a lower air pressure, further improving comfort and grip and reducing susceptibility to punctures.

Although the Continental Grand Prix 5000 is still one of the fastest and most popular road bike tires, it didn't stop the German manufacturer's developers from launching a tubeless-ready (TR) version that has been improved in all areas.
At first glance, the 5000 S TR is almost indistinguishable from the previous version. However, the familiar Lazer Grip tread structure conceals a completely new design. In contrast to the previous version, the 5000 S TR has only 2 instead of 3 layers of fabric under the tread. This ensures better adaptation to the surface and contributes significantly to the 20% reduction in rolling resistance. Thanks to the Vectran Breaker puncture protection layer and the grippy Black Chili tread inherited from the previous version, the reduced number of plies does not have a negative effect on puncture protection. The sidewalls still consist of 3 layers with a newly added protective layer. This not only improves the puncture protection of the sidewalls by 28 %, it also ensures a more stable running of the tire at low air pressures. A new, patented tubeless construction, which does not require a sealing rubber layer, makes the tire 50 grams lighter than the previous version.
Long awaited by many Conti fans, the new 5000 S TR is now also compatible with hookless rims. However, it can still be ridden with classic clincher rims and also with a tube.
The new tubeless tire has already proven its outstanding properties and versatility in racing. Both the world championship title in the individual time trial and the victory at Paris-Roubaix were won on the 5000 ST R.
DT Swiss 240 Dicut hub
At the center is the proven DT Swiss 240 hub in the elegant Dicut design. Its legendary status is based on its ultimate reliability. Its proven design withstands even the toughest conditions and guarantees reliable propulsion at all times thanks to the ratchet EXP pulley freehub. Thanks to the large-area power transmission via 36 teeth, the system can transmit significantly greater forces than a ratchet freewheel and is less susceptible to wear.The patented two-in-one spoke mounts give the hub a slim shape and support the wheel with its good aerodynamic values. It also impresses with its low weight and ensures a long service life and low maintenance thanks to the perfectly sealed bearings.
DT Swiss Aerolite / Aero Comp Straightpull spokes with Pro Lock nipples
The DT Aerolite / Aero Comp spokes also ensure weight savings and support the good aerodynamics of the wheel thanks to their blade shape. The middle section was flattened using the cold forging process and therefore has a particularly high material strength. The straight design and the elimination of the highly stressed spoke bend also eliminates a potential breakage point and minimizes susceptibility to punctures.
In the Pro Lock process, a patented two-component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, enabling the construction of extremely durable wheels. As soon as the nipples are screwed in, the adhesive is activated and hardens completely at room temperature after approx. 6 - 7 hours. Repeated re-centering is still possible without any problems, although the adhesive strength decreases slightly each time.
