DT Swiss FR 541 rim
This rim is the ideal basis for an indestructible wheel. During development, particular attention was paid to impact resistance and the prevention of abrupt air loss. To achieve this, the rim flange has been reinforced and made slightly wider. Nevertheless, the weight is still within an acceptable range. In addition, the enormous inner width gives the tire perfect support, which prevents it from kinking in fast bends and ensures greater riding stability. The typical DT Swiss high-quality workmanship and the welded rim joint guarantee the rim a long service life. In addition, the shot-peened surface largely prevents stone chips, so that it appears as good as new even after many descents.
DT Swiss 240 EXP hub
DT Swiss always manages to make good things even better. This also applies to the popular 240 hub. In contrast to the previous model, it is even lighter, stiffer and easier to maintain. The use of materials has been optimized and thus the weight reduced. Bearings positioned slightly further out ensure the high rigidity of the hub body, which is reflected in a more direct steering response.In addition, the reinforced flanges transfer the braking forces more evenly to all spokes and make the wheel more stable and durable.
The EXP toothed disk freewheel ensures unbridled propulsion. 36 engagement points and a large contact surface guarantee extremely direct and reliable power transmission.
Low maintenance is guaranteed by the high-quality stainless steel industrial ball bearings, which perform their work inconspicuously over many thousands of kilometers. The precise fit and good sealing make you almost forget they exist. After all, you should be riding and not just tinkering.
DT Swiss Competition spokes with DT ProLock Squorx ProHead nipples
The Competition spokes used also show no weaknesses. Thanks to the cold forging process during their manufacture, they have a high level of strength, but also a certain degree of flexibility thanks to the butted center section, which allows them to absorb hard impacts without being damaged. This also saves a lot of weight.
The spokes are connected to the rim using DT ProLock Squorx ProHead aluminum nipples. A two-component adhesive is injected into the thread. This is activated during assembly and hardens after 6-7 hours. This virtually prevents the spokes from loosening and guarantees a stable wheel in the long term. They also have a spherical contact surface, which allows the nipple to automatically align itself with the spoke angle. This enables a better flow of force and prevents tilting in the rim bed.
