DARIMO stem IX2 UD matt | -17°
A little tip first: Please always mount this stem correctly. There is a risk that it could float away due to its low weight. At 66 g with a length of 100 mm, this is truly phenomenal. Anyone who wants to build an ultra-light bike should consider the Darimo stem.
But how do the Spaniards manage to produce such a flyweight? The clever minds from Valencia have done a lot of tinkering and save material wherever they can. But of course they also pay attention to safety and rigidity. For the latter, the design plays a particularly important role. Round stems have a high torsional stiffness, while square cross-sections are very stable in the vertical direction. As a result, a combination of both shapes was chosen, which unites the respective advantages. It also has a striking appearance and is an eye-catcher on your bike.
The handlebars are held in place on the front plate by two titanium bolts. This has enabled further weight savings compared to the IX4 version.
Notes:
The Darimo stem is a high-end product and requires careful installation. All torques and rider weights specified by the manufacturer must be precisely adhered to. This increases the service life of the stem and ensures your safety.
When using the stem on a road bike, please note that the diameter of the top link must not exceed 31.8 mm due to the non-removable front cap. Otherwise there is a risk of damage to the handlebars and stem. Aero handlebars are therefore excluded.
