The SRAM chain is pre-waxed and, with perfectly matched shifting components, ensures extremely high performance and durability under all conditions. Due to its unique design, the chain has a high wear resistance. A nickel coating offers a high level of protection against corrosion and reduces the friction of the chain. The wax forms a transparent, smooth coating and keeps the chain clean, ie no more dirty hands and annoying cleaning and easy transport without chainring tattoos. Thanks to the reduced friction, you save energy and at the same time extend the service life of your drive. This saves money and protects the environment. In order to get a quiet and silky-smooth drive, the chain should be waxed after approx. 250 km in everyday use. In addition, re-waxing after wet rides is recommended.
Note : Check your chain regularly with a chain tester and replace it as soon as the wear limit of 0.5% is reached. To wax the chain again, the device Cyclowax-Heater is required.
