With this Continental tire bundle you can achieve new best performances in everyday training as well as in racing! The aerodynamically optimized Aero 111 ensures the lowest possible air resistance on the front wheel, while the Grand Prix 5000 S TR can show off its low rolling resistance and high mileage on the rear wheel.

The perfect storm! With the Aero 111 tubeless tires, Continental, in collaboration with the aerodynamics experts from Swiss Side, has succeeded in optimally guiding the air along the rims. This is made possible by 48 so-called vortex generators, small precision-formed air chambers on the tread of the tire. These generate controlled turbulence, which ensures that the air flow sticks to the rim for longer and only stalls at large lateral flow angles. In practice, this not only results in a more aerodynamically efficient wheel and tire system, but also improves crosswind stability and steering stability. The Aero 111 was developed and aerodynamically optimized in combination with DT-Swiss ARC and ERC aero rims. However, the tires can also demonstrate their advantages on rims from other manufacturers. Because the air on the rear wheel is already too turbulent, the Aero 111 is particularly recommended for use on the front wheel.
The carcass construction and rubber compound were largely adopted from Continental's high-end 5000 S TR racing tire. Thanks to only 2 fabric layers under the tread, the rolling resistance is extremely low and the tire can adapt perfectly to the surface. Thanks to the Vectran Breaker puncture protection layer and the grippy Black Chili tread, the reduced number of layers does not have a negative effect on puncture protection.

CONTINENTAL Grand Prix 5000 S TR Tubeless 28" BlackChili VectranBreaker black tires

In contrast to the previous version, the 5000 S TR has only 2 instead of 3 fabric layers under the tread. This ensures better adaptation to the ground and contributes significantly to the 20% reduction in rolling resistance. Thanks to the Vectran Breaker puncture protection layer and the grippy Black Chili tread inherited from the previous version, the reduced number of plies does not have a negative effect on puncture protection. The sidewalls still consist of 3 layers with a newly added protective layer. This not only improves the puncture protection of the sidewalls by 28%, it also ensures a more stable running of the tire at low air pressures. A new, patented tubeless construction, which does not require a sealing rubber layer, makes the tire 50 grams lighter than the previous version.
Long awaited by many Conti fans, the new 5000 S TR is now also compatible with hookless rims. However, it can still be ridden with classic clincher rims and also with a tube.

Vectran Breaker
Vectran ™ is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber with a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran ™ is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran ™ is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Both spider silk and Vectran ™ have enormous tensile strength at very low weight. Higher puncture resistance and lower weight are the advantages of the Vectran breaker. Vectran is more cut-resistant than aramid, 5 times more tensile than steel and lighter than a nylon thread, without affecting rolling resistance. This makes it the ideal protective layer for tires. Vectran was developed for airbag systems in the automotive and aerospace industries.

TubelessReady
TR technology is specially designed to adapt tubeless to the demands of road cycling. Easy to fit and reliable in use. Specially developed, the tubeless foot provides a special seal thanks to its shape and ensures a stable hold on the rim.
