CERAMICSPEED OSPW derailleur cage System Coated | SRAM eTap
The Oversized Pulley Wheel System (OSPW) from CeramicSpeed is the logical consequence for minimizing friction. The large rear derailleur pulleys with 17 teeth at the top and 17 teeth at the bottom significantly minimize the chain wrap radii, which results in less friction. In addition, the larger derailleur pulleys offer a longer service life than other standard systems on the market.
Technically, the OSPW system is equipped with high-performance bearings and special ceramic balls made of third-grade silicon nitride. The bearing consists of a hardened steel race with an ultra-smooth polished groove. The CeramicSpeed bearing balls are 15 % harder, 100 % smoother and 99 % more resilient than commercially available ceramic balls and are considered the best ceramic bearings in the world.
The bearing cage is made of carbon fibers, which are reinforced with polyamide so that the forces can be better distributed and absorbed and the rear derailleur works perfectly even in the most adverse conditions.
Coated version
In contrast to the already high-quality standard bearings from CeramicSpeed, a wafer-thin protective layer is applied to the bearing rings in the "coated" version. This makes the latter even harder, extends the life cycle by a further 60% and reduces rolling resistance even further.
Maintenance
It is important to lubricate the bearings carefully to maintain performance and longevity. Simply apply oil to the bearing seals so that the oil can penetrate the bearing. Always do this when lubricating the chain or after washing the bike or riding in wet and muddy conditions.
IMPORTANT
When traveling, please remember to remove the complete rear derailleur, as very few bike transport bags offer sufficient space for the OSPW system.
