The bottom brackets from the Danish company Ceramicspeed have long been the absolute high-end solution for all cyclists who place the highest value on low friction and long-lasting durability. Nevertheless, with the ALPHA series, their engineers have managed the almost impossible to further optimize and improve them.

The proven and unsurpassed Ceramicspeed SpeedBalls made of silicon nitride ceramic have been retained. These are approx. 15 % harder than those of the competition and can absorb considerably more force. They also have an incredibly smooth surface and, together with the stainless steel tracks, reduce rolling resistance to a minimum. In addition, the service life has been increased 6-fold.
Protection against external influences has been completely revised. There are now special seals for every bearing and every area of application, which come pretty close to the ideal compromise between shielding and low friction. Water and dirt cannot get past the external dust covers made of POM plastic. They are also flush with the bearing shells, preventing dust particles from becoming trapped. All these details increase the resistance to penetrating dirt particles by up to 500 %.
The external construction has also been carefully scrutinized. High-quality and stronger 7075 aluminum is used and the amount of material used has been reduced as much as possible. As a result, the weight has been reduced by around 10 % compared to its predecessor.

Of course, Ceramicspeed tests all products extensively before they are launched on the market. In addition to tough laboratory tests, well over 100 prototypes of the ALPHA bottom bracket were tested by professional teams and amateurs over many thousands of kilometers under all conceivable conditions. Only after the results of this phase have been evaluated and incorporated into the production process does the fully developed component reach the end customer.

This bottom bracket fits in bicycle frames with an 86 mm wide T47 housing and accepts cranks with a 28.99 mm DUB shaft.

Maintenance
Ceramicspeed components are high-tech features for your bike. They offer you maximum performance, but also require regular maintenance and care. The grease included in the scope of delivery is used for maintenance and has been specially formulated for these bearings. Lubricants from other manufacturers are not recommended.
