Cork as a saddle cover - the clever minds at BJORN are taking an interesting and experimental approach with this step. And can it work? The durability of cork has already been proven by its use in shoe, furniture and even aerospace production .
The biggest advantage of this natural material is its excellent damping properties. The special structure of the individual particles enables a high degree of flexibility without appearing spongy. In addition, the cork adapts to the shape of your individual buttocks and thus increases the contact surface to the saddle. This distributes your weight better and avoids load peaks.
In addition, a channel running from the saddle nose provides pressure relief and protects the blood vessels and nerves in the sensitive perineal area.
To improve durability, the cork padding has been treated with a special impregnation. This provides lasting protection against moisture, aggressive salts and UV radiation.
You will also be delighted when you look at the scales. The Probka is one of the lightest cork saddles on the market. The carbon saddle rails and the saddle shell also help to save weight.
