A small team of cycling enthusiasts develops and produces high-quality bike components there. These are not only functional, but also lightweight and stand out from the crowd. By manufacturing on site, the production process can be monitored at all times and exceptional quality guaranteed. And this is exactly what is visible in each of their products.
The Divan is a premium saddle with a kangaroo leather cover, developed for riders who spend many hours in the saddle and value consistent comfort. It supports the natural flow of movement when pedaling and reduces friction to a minimum. This ensures a smooth, safe riding experience on long distances as well as on everyday rides.
Every detail of the Divan has been carefully selected: Italian tanned kangaroo leather with a particularly soft, silky smooth surface and very low friction, a CNC-milled dual-density foam for long-lasting support and a lightweight carbon base that is specially adapted to the properties of natural leather. The result is a saddle with an exceptional look and outstanding performance.
Premium kangaroo leather
The kangaroo leather tanned in Italy is dyed through and retains its color depth permanently. It is soft, elastic, naturally low-friction and at the same time extremely durable. The material retains its shape, protects against friction on long rides and provides a comfortable riding experience even without bib shorts.Unlike other manufacturers, BJORN Carbon only uses kangaroo leather from wild stocks, which comes from the Australian government's strictly regulated stock management program to prevent ecological damage. This ensures that the material is used responsibly.
Dual-density pad
The CNC-milled foam with two different densities offers long-term comfort and reliable support. The lower layer provides stability and absorbs bumps, while the softer upper layer increases the contact area and distributes pressure evenly. Together they keep the rider stable in the saddle and help to prevent circulatory problems, tissue swelling and numbness during long rides.
Carbon saddle shell
The newly developed carbon saddle shell has been specially designed for natural leather upholstery. Its shape ensures that only the leather comes into contact with the clothing and that friction on carbon edges is completely eliminated. The revised design reduces the weight without compromising on stiffness, durability or the secure connection to the carbon saddle frame.
Handcrafted
The Divan is BJORN Carbon's most labor-intensive product. Each individual production step requires the highest level of precision craftsmanship and results in clear lines and flawless surfaces. Each saddle is made entirely by hand. From the production of the carbon shell and the carbon frame, to the milling and preparation of the foam, to the careful stretching and shaping of the leather. Around 80 temporary nails and a special shaping tool are used to fit the leather over the padding with millimeter precision.
