SRAM's XX1 group ushered in a new era in mountain biking. A chainring at the front and an extremely wide stepped sprocket block at the rear have adorned many bikes from Cross Country to All-Mountain. Absolute Black developed a combination of single chainring and spider (direct mount), which can be mounted on any SRAM GXP crank in groups XX1, X0, X9 or X7 with an exchangeable spider. The combination is screwed directly to the crank arm. This saves weight, is very stiff and ensures a clean and individual look. A high-strength 7075 Txxx aluminum alloy ensures low wear.
The chainrings have special teeth that prevent the chain from jumping off. The principle follows that of the SRAM XX1 chainrings. In conjunction with an SRAM Type2 / 3 or Shimano Shadow + rear derailleur, which have a greatly increased cage preload, the chain is reliably held in position even without a chain guide.
The ovalization of the chainring increases the performance by varying the drive train and optimizing the resistance. When kicking with the legs, the natural strengths and weaknesses are brought into harmony. In this way, better use of the stronger muscle groups is achieved and a balance is created in the weaker muscles on the way to work (lower stroke).
Note: compatible with SRAM / Truvativ GXP and BB30 cranks . BB30 cranks are only compatible if it is the longer axle model. These can be recognized by the built-in 16 mm spacer on the drive side.
