SRAM's XX1 groupset ushered in a new era in mountain biking. Since then, a chainring at the front and an extremely wide sprocket block at the rear have adorned many bikes from cross-country to all-mountain. Absolute Black has developed a combination of single chainring and spider (direct mount) that can be fitted to any SRAM GXP crank of the XX1, X0, X9 or X7 groupsets with an interchangeable spider. The combination is bolted directly to the crank arm. This saves weight, is very stiff and ensures a clean and individual look. A high-strength 7075 Txxx aluminum alloy ensures low wear.
The chainrings have special teeth that prevent the chain from jumping off. The principle follows that of the SRAM XX1 chainrings. In conjunction with a SRAM Type2/3 or Shimano Shadow+ rear derailleur, which have a greatly increased cage preload, the chain is reliably held in position even without a chain guide.
The ovalization of the chainring increases performance by varying the drivetrain and optimizing resistance. When pedaling with the legs, the natural strengths and weaknesses are harmonized. This achieves better use of the stronger muscle groups and compensates for the weaker muscles in the work stroke (shorter stroke).
Note: compatible with SRAM/Truvativ GXP and BB30 cranks. BB30 cranks are only compatible if it is the model with a longer axle. These can be recognized by the 16 mm spacer installed on the drive side.
