Absolute Black chainrings are CNC-milled from a single piece of aluminium and then anodized. This ensures a stiff and durable chainring. They were developed for a 1x9, 1x10, 1x11 or 1x12 (SRAM Eagle) drivetrain. The chainrings have special teeth that prevent the chain from jumping off. The principle follows that of the SRAM XX1 chainrings. In conjunction with a SRAM Type2 or Shimano Shadow+ rear derailleur, which have a greatly increased cage preload, the chain is reliably held in position even without a chain guide.
