The name "Ride Shotgun" has its roots in a historical tradition: In the past, a guard armed with a shotgun would sit next to the coachman to protect the carriage, cargo, and passengers. Riding "shotgun" meant being right up front and in the thick of the action—just like the kids in Kids Ride Shotgun seats. As a homage to the brand’s New Zealand roots, the Farnmark symbol (a registered trademark of New Zealand) is featured on all their products.
