Description
WOLFTOOTH boom Goatlink for Shimano 11-speed Shadow + derailleurs
Normally, Shimano uses 11-40 or 11-42-tooth cassettes on its 11-speed mountain bike gearboxes. Especially with a 1x11 drive this can offer too little translation bandwidth. The idea to use a SRAM XD cassette with 10-42 teeth is close. Furthermore, there are tuning sprockets, which extend the SRAM cassette up to 44 teeth.
There are also tuning sprockets for Shimano, which extend the cassette up to 46 teeth. In order to ensure, as usual, optimal switching performance, but also the rear derailleur must be adjusted.
The Goatlink 11 from Wolftooth positions the rear derailleur a little further down, so that the chain can fit optimally around all sprockets. This ensures the best possible switching precision. With the original boom, the B screw on the rear derailleur must be positioned at maximum. As a result, the rear derailleur leans far back and wraps around the pinion to a lesser extent.
