FOX suspension fork 2023 27.5" Float 36 F-S 160 GRIP2 Factory Boost shiny black 15x110 mm tapered 44 mm offset
The perennial favorite in the range.
The revised fork crown for 2023 saves some weight and is also stiffer than its predecessor. For the rest of the fork, FOX relies on the tried and tested and otherwise sends it into the race unchanged. For trail and all-mountain use, the FOX 36 comes with superior features. The casting guarantees outstanding stiffness values without additional weight, while features such as the floating thru-axle, the dip tube ventilation and channels integrated into the dip tubes to improve lubrication and the discharge of compressed air in the casting round off the fork. The proven Grip2 dampers and the improved FLOAT EVOL technology ensure perfect responsiveness. Stiff 36 mm stanchions, exclusive SKF seals and the closed cartridge ensure a long service life.
Different tuning options ensure the best performance on the trail.
GRIP2 damping
Fox has packed all its knowledge into this damping. The various adjustment options offer the possibility of optimally adapting it to the various conditions of use.
The high- and low-speed compression and the high- and low-speed rebound can be adjusted separately. Although the setup must be carried out carefully, it offers endless riding pleasure on any surface.
With the integrated Variable Valve Control (VVC) system, the sensitivity of the high-speed rebound and high-speed compression damping is varied via a leaf spring and not by changing the preload. This results in a finely adjustable function and modification.
In addition, attention was paid to the use of low-friction and coated materials throughout the development process. This allows a very fine response and significantly increases comfort.
EVOL
The enlarged negative air chamber improves the response of the fork. This increases comfort because the breakaway torque has been reduced. In addition, a more linear spring characteristic curve offers better performance, especially in the middle spring travel ranges.
FLOAT AIR SPRING
The FLOAT air spring system reduces the breakaway torque and thus offers a highly sensitive fork and full comfort even with small bumps. And that for every type of rider and with a wide range of air pressures. Similar to the FLOAT suspension struts, the FLOAT suspension system is characterized by a positive and a negative air chamber, which automatically balance each other out when riding. Every rider thus enjoys the benefits of the correct, precisely balanced air pressure in both air chambers. The progression of the spring characteristic can be adjusted with our air volume spacers - allowing every rider to precisely set the characteristics of the air spring.
BLEEDERS
The dip tube bleeders allow air pressure equalization at the touch of a button. The pressure build-up in the dip tubes drastically reduces the fork performance and prevents the full suspension travel from being reached, while at the same time the sensitivity and responsiveness of the fork suffers on small bumps.
LOWER LEG CHANNELS
When a fork compresses, the air in the lower leg channels is compressed at the same time. The further the fork compresses, the more the pressure increases. This effect means that the fork responds harder and may not be able to use the full suspension travel.
The overflow channels help to solve this problem by directing the compressed air from the lower part of the fork tubes upwards, thus reducing the unintended increase in pressure. A further advantage of these channels is that the lubricating oil in the lower section of the dip tubes circulates upwards during the spring process and continuously lubricates the foam rings and the sliding bushes.
AIR VOLUME SPACERS
The FLOAT air spring on FOX forks and shocks can be fine-tuned using volume spacers to make the suspension elements more progressive or less progressive. This allows the rider to fine-tune the suspension exactly to their needs.
KASHIMA COAT
The Genuine Kashima Coat coating for a butter-soft ride feel is available exclusively from FOX, the Kashima Coat logo is applied to both stanchions. The distinctive golden Genuine Kashima Coat coating offers superior overall performance and ensures minimal friction and optimum responsiveness with maximum durability.
FLOATING AXLE
Floating axles are similar to conventional thru-axle systems, but offer a significant performance advantage. The special bearing ensures perfect alignment of the fork and avoids unwanted friction caused by tension between the stanchions and lower tubes. Floating axles ensure a much more even suspension movement over the entire range of fork travel and thus improve the response behavior enormously.
