"My bikes are not for the showroom, they are for the trail." ... With this quote we start the introduction of Dangerholm on our website. And yes - of course you can ride a Spark or even a Scale a bit wilder. But Dangerholm hasn't presented something for the harder pace in rough terrain for a long time. Can he still do it? Oh yes - he can! And how! With this Ransom 30 in the Dangerholm Edition, he sets up a bike whose focus is on pure enduro performance.

For this presented construction, Dangerholm therefore leaves the topic of weight alone and concentrates fully on high performance and function. The key elements in this build were the suspension, brakes and wheels.

Bike Build

A Ransom 930 aluminium frame in a wonderful "Chromacoat Golden Night" finish forms the basis for the body presented here. Please don't be surprised: depending on the angle of incidence of the light, the appearance changes between blue and gold-bronze.

The Ransom 930 is a popular variant from Scott's Ransom range. It has the same features as the carbon models, but is available at a much lower price. In addition, the geometry is not too extreme and covers everything from occasional enduro races to a day in the bike park.

When it comes to the suspension, Dangerholm leaves nothing to be desired: the Intend Blackline Ebonite Bandit fork with the characteristic one-and-a-half crown and the Intend Hover Gamechanger damper provide rich traction on any terrain. If things do get too rough, the Trickstuff Maxima will confidently sort out the situation.

However, in order to mount the Gamechanger shock, a slight modification of the frame was necessary to obtain the required millimetres more clearance for it.

Of course, the Intend Blackline Ebonite Bandit is particularly striking. With its one and a half crowns, it is the eye-catcher on the Ransom. The highlight, however, is not more stiffness or simply the look but - well hidden - the added performance of another air chamber. The upper extension contains an additional positive air chamber. This makes it possible to work with different air pressures. At the beginning of the suspension travel, the air chamber works sensitively with low pressure on small bumps. However, when you are deeper in the suspension travel and more rough bumps follow, the second air chamber comes into play. The fork now becomes firmer and offers more support. The Hover Gamechanger also seems unusual at first glance. The damper works very sensitively, has a rebound and compression adjustment and a climb switch. The real highlight, however, is again the air chamber system. Here, a huge negative air chamber works and ensures an incredibly smooth response.

The Maxima brakes used are considered perfect anchors due to their stability and performance. Nothing can upset them, the performance and ergonomics are impressive and as small CNC works of art they look perfect on any bike. Unfortunately, you have to be patient if you want to screw them onto your bike. Long waiting times are the order of the day here.

The hubs from Onyx Racing Products are also exciting. A Helix is used at the front and a Classic at the rear. These are characterised by high manufacturing quality and hybrid ceramic bearings. The highlight of the rear hub is the freewheel clutch system used instead of traditional pawls or ratchets. The clutch system makes it completely silent when coasting - no clicking or whirring, only the sound of the tyres can be heard.

Another eye-catcher is the Intend Rocksteady crankset. Paired with an Actofive signature chainring, it doesn't do things by halves when it comes to durability. Made in Germany and clearly designed for hard riding, there is nothing that will make this combination sweat. A CeramicSpeed bottom bracket provides the necessary and guided hold in the frame. Durability and easy maintenance were the decisive factors for their use. A GX AXS rear derailleur, an X01 chain and the 10-50 cassette from Garbaruk complete the drivetrain.

Things get special again near the cockpit. The frame retains the original lower headset from Syncros. At the top, however, an Intend Stiffmaster works and provides an extra portion of stiffness. The Intend Grace EN stem rounds off the package and has a Schmolke Carbon DH Lowriser handlebar firmly in its grip. The Syncros AM lock-on grips provide the necessary yet comfortable grip. These are available in different diameters. Dangerholm swears by the thicker version.

The saddle is a Syncros Tofino R 1.0. This is the carbon version, which is held by a Reverb AXS with 170mm adjustment range. A fine detail is the Syncros iS Cage bottle cage. This adapts to your own preferences and offers the option of gripping the bottle with the left or right hand. It also comes with a small multitool in which you can also stow a chain lock.

The very first Scott that Dangerholm bought was a Ransom 30 from 2006, and the development since then - up to this model - is impressive! The frame is hugely confidence inspiring and is superbly complemented by the components used. From enduro to bike park - this bike looks forward to every ride!
