This wheel set also defies the special loads of an e-bike drive. The indestructible Tune hubs and the excellently processed Duke rims also forgive a driving mistake. The balanced selection of components guarantees you high reliability and a long service life.
hubs
The Tune hubs are classics among the lightweight hubs for disc brakes. Originally developed for the MTB sector, they are now also among the best options for light road, cyclo-cross and gravel wheels. Not only can they be used to build light and durable wheels, thanks to their 17 millimeter axle system, they can be used extremely flexibly and can be converted to different axle type with minimal effort. The hub gets its high stability and strength from the production of aircraft aluminum. When it comes to freewheeling the rear wheel hub, Tune relies on the proven system with 3 pawls that engage in a 27-tooth titanium ring. The freewheel body of the Endurance rear wheel hub has also been reinforced in order to be able to better absorb the high leverage forces in e-bike use over the long term. In addition, the ball bearings of the Endurance variant are filled with a special solid lubricant, which can also withstand the use of high-pressure cleaners and adverse weather conditions.
rims
The rims from Duke from France stand for low weight and excellent workmanship. The hookless construction is ideal for using tubeless systems. The reinforced bead means that any punctures can be better tolerated without causing damage. The fairly flat and wide rims reliably support the tires in every situation, so you don't have a spongy driving experience even with little air pressure.
The asymmetrical shape enables more even spoke tension, which further increases the rigidity of the entire wheel.
spokes
The Race spoke is the classic from Sapim! It is a round spoke with a butted middle part with a diameter of 1.8 mm. This provides more damping than non-tapered spokes. In addition, short peak loads can be better digested. The Race spoke enables very stiff and stable wheels for practically every intended use . The weight including nipples is approx. 6.95g per piece.
Impeller construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are assembled entirely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction, it is important that not only the concentricity is right, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifetime guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this is not caused by violence!
