This wheel set also defies the special loads of an e-bike drive. The indestructible Newmen hubs and the excellently processed Duke rims also forgive a driving mistake. The balanced selection of components guarantees you high reliability and a long service life.
hubs
The Newmen FADE hubs will also find many fans again. You don't need to worry about adjusting the axial bearing play here. The durable, double-sealed industrial bearings are stress-free and precisely pressed in at the factory. This further development has gained a high degree of user-friendliness. You can spend the time saved better on your favorite trail.
The design of the freewheel is completely different from the previous model. The goal was low noise. The result was the FADE ratchet system. 3 pawls engage in a new type of tooth profile. To increase durability, the diameter was enlarged and the individual pawls were short and wide. Thus, the resulting forces are distributed over a larger area.
Despite the relatively low weight, safety was not compromised. Better to use a little more material in neuralgic areas, like. E.g. at the transition between the brake disc and spoke holder than risking a defect.
rims
The rims from Duke from France stand for low weight and excellent workmanship. The hookless construction is ideal for using tubeless systems. The reinforced bead means that any punctures can be better tolerated without causing damage. The fairly flat and wide rims reliably support the tires in every situation, so you don't have a spongy driving experience even with little air pressure.
The asymmetrical shape enables more even spoke tension, which further increases the rigidity of the entire wheel.
spokes
The Race spoke is the classic from Sapim! It is a round spoke with a butted middle part with a diameter of 1.8 mm. This provides more damping than non-tapered spokes. In addition, short peak loads can be better digested. The Race spoke enables very stiff and stable wheels for practically every intended use . The weight including nipples is approx. 6.95g per piece.
Impeller construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are assembled entirely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction, it is important that not only the concentricity is right, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifetime guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this is not caused by violence!
