This wheelset also defies the special loads of an e-bike drive. The indestructible DT Swiss hubs and the excellently manufactured DT Swiss rims also forgive a driving mistake. The balanced selection of components guarantees high reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
The hybrid version of the 240 hub has been specially developed for use on e-bikes. The hybrid hubs are also the best choice for expedition bikes and for drivers who want an almost indestructible wheelset. Compared to the standard version, they have an oversized housing, a heavy-duty axle and extra reinforced spoke holders. Oversized bearings also ensure high robustness and durability. The tried-and-tested DT-Swiss pulley freewheel is also made of hardened steel on the hybrid hub and has been expanded to 24 teeth for a more direct response. With these adjustments, the larger torques of the e-bike drives can be easily absorbed. Despite these adjustments, the 240s hybrid hub only weighs a very small amount compared to a standard MTB hub.
rims
If you want to go into the unknown with your 29er E-MTB, the HX 531 with its 30 mm internal width is the perfect choice. Due to the optimal mix of stability, weight and width, it can be driven with many different tire widths and you are therefore very flexible in choosing the intended use .
Spokes
The Race spoke is the classic from Sapim. It is a circular spoke with a butted central section 1.8 mm in diameter. This provides more cushioning than with non-tapered spokes. In addition, short peak loads can be digested better. The Race spoke enables very stiff and stable wheels for practically every intended use . The weight including nipple is approx.6.95g per piece.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this has not been caused by violence!

A spare spoke + nipple in all required spoke lengths in order to be able to repair the wheel at short notice even after accidents.
A free initial inspection of the wheel, in which the resulting work is completely free! Only shipping costs are charged.
A crash replacement promise. If your wheel is damaged due to force majeure, we will rebuild your wheel once. We grant 100% discount on all labor costs and only charge the material!
