This wheelset can also withstand the special loads of an e-bike drive. The indestructible Chris King hubs and the superbly crafted DT Swiss rims are forgiving of the occasional riding error. The well-balanced selection of components guarantees you a high level of reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
CHRIS KING hubs have a certain myth attached to them. They have been on the market almost unchanged for years and yet they are not old hat. Thanks to their proven technical inner workings, constant further development in detail and unmistakable appearance, they have become a true cult object.
Thanks to the large hub flange of the ISO hubs, shorter spokes can be used when building wheels. This not only saves weight, but also makes for a very stable and durable wheel.
The unmistakable sound of the freewheel is the trademark of the rear hubs. Chris King himself calls it the "Angry Bee Sound", which is generated by the 72 grid points of the stainless steel sprocket. Thanks to this 3-piece RingDrive system, every pedal stroke is immediately converted into propulsion without much idle travel.
At the heart of the hub are the ball bearings. These are also developed and produced directly at Chris King. This means they can be fully adapted to the specific loads and forces. Thanks to the multiple seals, the ingress of water or dirt is virtually impossible.
Rims
If you want to set off into the unknown with your 29er E-MTB, the HX 531 with its 30 mm rim width is the perfect choice. Thanks to the optimal mix of stability, weight and width, it can be ridden with many different tire widths and you are therefore very flexible when choosing the area of use.
Spokes
The Race spoke is the classic from Sapim. It is a round spoke with a butted center section with a diameter of 1.8 mm. This provides more damping than non-tapered spokes. In addition, short load peaks can be better digested. The Race spoke enables very stiff and stable wheels for practically any application. The weight including nipple is approx. 6.95g per piece.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are assembled completely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire assembly process, great importance is attached to ensuring that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. This special care allows us to offer a lifetime guarantee against spoke breakage as long as it is not caused by force.

You will receive a universal wheel bag for all common sizes.
You will receive a replacement spoke with nipple in all required spoke lengths so that you can repair the wheel quickly after an accident.
You will receive a free initial inspection of the wheel, where the resulting work is completely free of charge. Only shipping costs are incurred.
You get a crash replacement promise: If your wheel is damaged due to force majeure, we will rebuild it once. We grant a 100% discount on all labor costs and only charge for the material.
