This wheelset also defies the special loads of an e-bike drive. The indestructible Newmen hubs and the excellently processed and light Newmen rims also forgive a driving mistake. The balanced selection of components guarantees high reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
The Newmen FADE hubs will again find many fans. You don't have to worry about adjusting the axial bearing clearance here either. The durable, double-sealed industrial bearings are tension-free and precisely pressed in ex works. This further development has gained a high degree of user friendliness. You can spend the saved time better on your favorite trail.
The design of the freewheel is completely different from the previous model. The goal was low noise. The FADE pawl system came out. 3 pawls engage in a new type of tooth profile. To increase durability, the diameter was increased and the individual pawls were made short and wide. The resulting forces are thus distributed over a large area.
Despite the relatively low weight, safety was not spared. It is better to use a little more material in critical areas, such as. For example, at the transition between the brake disc and spoke holder, as a risk of a defect.
rims
The Advanced rims, like all Newmen carbon rims, are made of high-end UD fibers and impress with their first-class mechanical properties and low weight. They are the ideal basis for a stable all-mountain and enduro wheelset.
The hookless construction makes them ideal for tubeless use. The significantly reinforced rim flange withstands possible punctures and allows driving with little air pressure. To avoid weak spots, the spoke holes were drilled using a special process.
Due to the slightly outward-facing flanks, the shape of the tire is rounder, which results in significantly better cornering grip and increased safety.
Spokes
The Race spoke is the classic from Sapim! It is a circular spoke with a butted central section 1.8 mm in diameter. This provides more cushioning than with non-tapered spokes. In addition, short peak loads can be digested better. The Race spoke enables very stiff and stable wheels for practically every intended use . The weight including nipple is approx.6.95g per piece.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this has not been caused by violence!
