This wheelset also defies the special loads of an e-bike drive. The indestructible Newmen hubs and the superbly processed Duke rims forgive driving mistakes. The balanced selection of components guarantees you a high level of reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
The Newmen FADE hubs will also find many fans again. Here, too, you do not need to worry about setting the axial bearing play. The durable, double-sealed industrial bearings are precisely and tension-free ex works. A high degree of user-friendliness has been gained through this further development. You can better spend the saved time on your favorite trail.
The construction of the freewheel is completely different from the previous model. The goal was a low level of noise. The result was the FADE pawl system. Thereby 3 pawls engage in a new type of tooth profile. To increase durability, the diameter was increased and the individual pawls were made short and wide. In this way, the resulting forces are distributed over a larger area.
Despite the relatively low weight, no savings were made in terms of security. It is better to build in a little more material at critical points, like. For example, at the transition between the brake disc and spoke mounts, as risking a defect.
rims
The rims from Duke from France stand for low weight and excellent workmanship. The hookless construction is ideal for the use of tubeless systems. The reinforced bead makes it easier to cope with any punctures without causing damage. The fairly flat and wide rims reliably support the tire in every situation, so you don't have a spongy driving experience even with little air pressure.
The asymmetrical shape enables a more even spoke tension, which further increases the rigidity of the entire wheel.
Spokes
The Race spoke is the classic from Sapim. It is a round spoke with a butted middle section of 1.8 mm in diameter. This provides more cushioning than non-tapered spokes. It also makes it easier to digest short load peaks. The Race spoke enables very stiff and stable wheels for practically every intended use . The weight including nipple is approx. 6.95 g per piece.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction process, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this was not caused by force!
