With this wheelset, even racers can really let it go. The indestructible Tune hubs and the excellently processed Alchemist rims forgive driving mistakes. The balanced selection of components guarantees you a high level of reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
The Tune hubs are classics among lightweight disc brakes. Originally developed for the MTB sector, they are now among the best options for light road, cyclo-cross and gravel wheels. They can not only be used to build lightweight and durable wheels, thanks to their 17 millimeter axle system they can be used extremely flexibly and can be converted to various axle type with minimal effort. The hub gets its high stability and strength from the manufacture of aerospace aluminum. When freewheeling the rear hub, Tune relies on the tried and tested system with 3 pawls that engage in a titanium ring with 27 teeth.
All Tune hubs are completely produced, milled and assembled in the Black Forest.
rims
Alchemist carbon rims are made in Italy. Toray UD carbon fibers are used as the starting material. These are held in shape by a break-proof nanopolymer synthetic resin, which is also used in Formula 1 cockpits, and thus result in a resilient carbon rim with increased impact resistance. Technical details such as reinforced spoke holes, hybrid rim flanges and an asymmetrical profile leave no potential unused. The low weight, coupled with rigidity, offers unmatched reactivity and accuracy at high speeds and changes of direction.

Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction process, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this was not caused by force!
You will also receive the following services for our balance bikes:
A universal impeller bag for all common sizes.
A spare spoke + nipple in all spoke lengths required to be able to repair the wheel at short notice even after an accident.
A free initial inspection of the impeller, during which the resulting work is completely free! Only shipping costs are charged.
A crash replacement promise. If your wheel is damaged due to force majeure, we will rebuild your wheel once. We grant a 100% discount on all labor costs and only charge the material!
