With this wheel set, even racers can really let it rip. The light Extralite hubs and the excellently processed Newmen rims also forgive a driving mistake. The balanced selection of components guarantees you high reliability and a long service life.
hubs
The Extralite hubs set standards in all respects. They are light, beautiful, reliable and convertible to different axle type standards. The design of the hubs has been optimized using modern simulation technology and, with the oversized shape, offers an optimal power flow in the material.
The freewheel is realized via a toothed disc, which engages directly with a toothing incorporated in the freewheel. In order to safely transmit even the highest forces, all teeth always mesh. This not only results in a noticeably lower idle travel until adhesion, but also an incomparable sound. This extremely direct power transmission offers clear advantages, especially when accelerating hard or in technically difficult terrain. In addition, the 2nd generation has an improved seal between the hub body and the freewheel and is easier to maintain. If the teeth are worn out, they can be replaced and the function restored.
The main advantages of straightpull hubs are, in addition to the more modern design, non-contact spokes that do not cause any unpleasant noise and spoke heads that cannot work into the spoke flange. If desired, the straightpull hubs can also be spoked crosswise.
rims
This high-end aluminum rim was developed for riders who want to throw themselves into cross-country races with light but stable wheels and want to compete for victory. Like all Newmen Evolution SL components, the rim consists of a high-strength aluminum alloy and impresses with first-class mechanical properties and low weight.
The flared and reinforced rim flanges are more resistant to damage from punctures and give the tire a rounder shape and thus even better cornering.
The rim profile with the straight nipple contact surface is specially designed for the use of specially developed washers (MG washer) and ensures very high "spoke pull out" values with very low wall thickness in this area.
Impeller construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are assembled entirely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction, it is important that not only the concentricity is right, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifetime guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this is not caused by violence!
