XC racers always want to win and are therefore looking for lightweight yet stable wheels. The combination of high-quality Alchemist carbon rims and DT-Swiss hubs should therefore always be on the shortlist. The balanced selection of components guarantees you a high level of reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
Lighter, stiffer, more precise and easier to maintain - these are the strengths of the newly launched DT Swiss 240 hubs. These properties were achieved through the Ratchet EXP technology. With this, not only do the hubs get by with fewer components and the associated lower weight and less wear, it also allows the bearing to be positioned significantly further out on the drive side. The greater distance between the bearings results in a higher stiffness of the hub, a lower bearing load and thus a higher durability. The stiffness of the hub body serves to distribute the load more evenly on the spokes. Driving and braking forces are transmitted even better from both spoke flanges to all of the spokes. One-sided load peaks is prevented, which protects the hub, spokes and rim. The super reliable toothed pulley freewheel system with its large contact area and 36 locking points ensures extremely direct and reliable power transmission
rims
Alchemist carbon rims are made in Italy. Toray UD carbon fibers are used as the starting material. These are held in shape by a break-proof nanopolymer synthetic resin, which is also used in Formula 1 cockpits, and thus result in a resilient carbon rim with increased impact resistance. Technical details such as reinforced spoke holes, hybrid rim flanges and an asymmetrical profile leave no potential unused. The low weight, coupled with rigidity, offers unmatched reactivity and accuracy at high speeds and changes of direction.

Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction process, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this was not caused by force!
You will also receive the following services for our balance bikes:
A universal impeller bag for all common sizes.
A spare spoke + nipple in all spoke lengths required to be able to repair the wheel at short notice even after an accident.
A free initial inspection of the impeller, during which the resulting work is completely free! Only shipping costs are charged.
A crash replacement promise. If your wheel is damaged due to force majeure, we will rebuild your wheel once. We grant a 100% discount on all labor costs and only charge the material!
