With this wheelset, racers can really get it down. The indestructible DT Swiss hubs and the excellently processed Newmen rims also forgive a driving mistake. The balanced selection of components guarantees high reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
Lighter, stiffer, more precise and easier to maintain - these are the strengths of the newly launched DT Swiss 240 hubs. These properties were achieved through the Ratchet EXP technology. With this, the hubs not only manage with fewer components and the associated lower weight and less wear, it also allows the bearing to be positioned significantly further out on the drive side. The larger distance between the bearings results in a higher stiffness of the hub, a lower bearing load and thus a higher durability. The rigidity on the hub body serves to distribute the load more evenly on the spokes. Drive and braking forces are transmitted even better from both spoke flanges to all spokes. One-sided load peaks are prevented, which protects the hub, spokes and rim. The super reliable tooth lock washer freewheel system with its large contact surface and 36 locking points ensures extremely direct and reliable power transmission.
rims
This high-end aluminum rim was developed for riders who want to jump into the cross country race with light but stable wheels and want to ride for the victory. Like all Newmen Evolution SL components, the rim is made of a high-strength aluminum alloy and impresses with first-class mechanical properties and low weight.
The flared and reinforced rim flanges are more resistant to puncture damage and give the tire a rounder shape and thus better cornering.
The rim profile with the straight nipple contact surface is specially designed for the use of specially developed washers (MG washer) and ensures very high "spoke pull out" values with very thin walls in this area.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this has not been caused by violence!
